Death, Violence, & Liberation
Death is not the opposite of life.
It is only when we come to see death as a friend contained within all life that we are freed from fear to enter the abundance of life with joy.
The work of liberation involves the twin movements of removing from the social dimension the forces of violence that bring unjust and premature death to the oppressed, while removing from the spiritual dimension those forces of fear, shame, and alienation that are the breeding ground of violence in the heart.
Thus dually liberated, we are made free to encounter one another in love, and to move through love into beloved community.
